Kanchenjunga Expedition - 55 Days

The Kanchenjunga Expedition is a remote and challenging high-altitude climb to the third highest mountain in the world (8,586m). This expedition offers a true wilderness experience in eastern Nepal with fewer climbers and more technical terrain compared to Everest.

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m) and transfer to hotel.

Day 02: Sightseeing and expedition briefing in Kathmandu.

Day 03: Fly to Bhadrapur and drive to Taplejung.

Day 04: Drive to Sekathum and trek begins.

Day 05: Trek to Amjilosa.

Day 06: Trek to Gyabla.

Day 07: Trek to Ghunsa (3,595m).

Day 08: Acclimatization in Ghunsa.

Day 09: Trek to Khambachen (4,050m).

Day 10: Acclimatization in Khambachen.

Day 11: Trek to Lhonak (4,780m).

Day 12: Trek to Pangpema (Kanchenjunga Base Camp ~5,140m).

Day 13-40: Acclimatization, rotations, and summit attempt via Camps I–IV.

Day 41: Return to Base Camp.

Day 42-48: Trek back via Ghunsa, Amjilosa, Sekathum.

Day 49: Drive to Taplejung and Bhadrapur.

Day 50: Fly back to Kathmandu.

Day 51-55: Reserve days / buffer / departure.

Equipment Details

Climbers must bring full high-altitude gear including down suit (-40°C), mountaineering boots, crampons, harness, helmet, gloves, sleeping bag (-30°C to -40°C), headlamp, sunglasses, and personal medical kit.

Services Included

Permits, logistics, accommodation, meals, Sherpa support, ropes, oxygen systems, and medical assistance are included.

Requirements

Previous experience above 6500m, strong physical condition, and technical climbing skills are required.
